I am by no means a professional party planner, but I love a good themed party! Charlotte was very insistent that she have not just any princess party but a Disney princess party. I think she had just as much fun helping me plan the party and picking out decorations as she did at the actual party!
Party Fun
Okay so one of my biggest fears when planning a party is that the kids will be bored. So I made sure to have plenty of activities to keep them entertained.
Charlotte’s Castle was a big hit! I found this cardboard castle here, and just set out some markers and crayons for the kids to decorate it. Word of warning though- if it’s hot outside, the crayons WILL melt and get everywhere. The kids had the best time drawing all over this and playing inside of it! It’s big, but it’s also disposable (wink, wink). So if it’s taking up to much space, it can *magically* disappear one day!
Princess Crowns
Every little princess needs a crown! I was able to find a little kit that came with crowns and stick on jewels which ended up being perfect for the party! You can find them at hobby lobby in store or order them online here. These were so simple (and inexpensive), but the kids loved making their own crowns!
Temporary Tattoos
Charlotte was very insistent on having princess tattoos at her party. Maybe I’m just not in the “know” but I was so surprised to see how much joy these little Disney Princess temporary tattoos brought these kiddos! **MOM HACK- to remove temporary tattoos, get some scotch tape, press it on the tattoo and it lifts right off!
A blanket with toys
Okay, this seems to easy right? Well, that because it is! I spread out this picnic blanket, which I highly recommend because you can just wipe it down with a Clorox wipe, and scattered some toys on it! Legos are always a huge hit, and I also included some little people Disney princesses that we already had to go along with the theme.
Piñata
I took Charlotte to Party City to pick out some decor for her party and her eyes lit up when she saw this piñata! I handed out these cute little princess buckets for the kids to collect the candy with. It was definitely a hit!
Food
We always get a chick-fil-a tray for birthday parties- It’s easy and they kids love it! I set out some chips and goldfish to go along with the nuggets.
I found these ideas on Pinterest, and they were both super easy! The the kids loved these “fruit wands.” I got the wands here, and just stuck the fruit on the ends of them! We also had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that were shaped like crowns. Just make PB&Js and use these cookie cutters to cut them into the shape of princess crowns. I added cheese cubes to the tray for people to snack on and to add a little color.
I think the cake was Charlotte’s favorite part of the party, and I mean look at it…can you blame her?! She talked about it for days after. I found the inspiration on Pinterest, and a local cake lady outdid herself making it for us! I borrowed this cake stand from a friend, which went along with the theme and cake so well.
Decorations & Party Favors
A very large majority of the decorations that I used came from Party City and Hobby Lobby! We hung these tissue princesses from our pergola! I set up a table where the kids could sit and eat. I just used plastic table cloths from Hobby Lobby. The castle centerpiece and princesses can be found here, and the princess balloons were purchased locally, but can be found here. I also purchased the balloon garland locally, but I found a DIY kit here!
I found these cute little princess bags here on amazon! I completely forgot to take a picture of what I put inside of them, but I will do my best to list everything here. The bags included princess wands, stickers, mini coloring books, tiaras, plastic rings, and princess pez dispensers. The small buckets in the picture are the buckets the kids used to collect candy from the piñata.
Overall, I think the party turned out really cute, and the kids had so much fun, which is what really matters. Hopefully, I didn’t miss anything, but if I did feel free to ask questions in the comment section below or DM me on instagram @claireeliselock!
