Hello everyone! I’m Claire’s husband, Nathan, and I’m pretty pumped to be her father’s day guest blogger. She was kind enough to give me complete creative control for this blog post, and I’m already reveling in the thought of each sentence that will make her eyes roll; i.e. don’t miss the wrapping paper link. For this gift guide, I went with wardrobe staples that are can’t miss. Based on the following for Claire’s blog, I will assume I’m speaking to wives looking to gift on behalf of their children. Choose one of these items, and you’ll accomplish the rare feat of giving a well-liked gift while simultaneously improving your husband’s style.
- Loafers – I own more loafers than any self-respecting man would admit, including ones much more expensive than this, but Cole Haan has always been my go-to. You can dress them up, down, with jeans, with khakis, with shorts, etc.
- Polo – Let’s be honest; you can buy a man as many colors of shirt as you like, but he’s only wearing the navy and the gray. This performance polo fits the bill.
- Q-zip – This is my favorite quarterzip. Mine happens to have a Georgia Bulldog added to the chest, and yours should too.
- ProV1s – If Dad is good at golf, he’ll appreciate the quality of the gold-standard in golf. If he is better at drinking beer than golfing, at least people will still admire the balls on that guy.
- Pocket-T – Every dad has a polo for his college team, but Claire recently got me a pocket tee for my team (Go Dawgs!), and it has been an excellent addition to my Saturday wardrobe.
- Sunglasses – I have tons of sunglasses because I can’t keep up with them. I recently saw these polarized shades for under $30, and I thought it a steal.
- Wallet – A new wallet is a father’s day tradition not far behind a necktie (don’t do it), might as well pick one made of quality materials from a trusted brand like Barbour.
- Shorts – I stumbled across these while looking for new shorts, and I love the color and material for everyday wear.
- On Shoes – Claire turned me on to On shoes, and I’ve been hooked ever since. This is the newest style I’m feeling. These are also another great version if you want to be able to just slip them on and go!
- Flip Flops – Every dad needs a nice pair of flip flops. If Peter Millar and Hari Mari are on the label, it’s nice.
- Wrapping Paper – This idea is not great for your dad, unless perhaps you’re from certain parts of Alabama. (Disclaimer: Claire did not approve this message.) For the father of your children, however, it’s sometimes important to recognize that you may already have the perfect gift if you add the right wrapping paper.
